Boundaries define us. They define what is me and what is not me. A boundary shows me where I end and someone else begins, leading me to a sense of ownership. Knowing what I am to own and take responsibility for gives me freedom.

We all have a point in our lives where we struggle to set or accept boundaries in our lives. The lack of honoring ourselves and setting boundaries for what we accept into our lives is crucial for fulfillment. Sometimes the boundaries may be small - like needing to live in a home with no dishes in a sink (don't move into my house!). Sometimes they are big and require setting limitations on physical or emotional interactions. The moment I accepted that it is okay for me to have whatever boundaries I need to be happy was the moment I not only freed myself, but I also learned to love myself as I am.
Thought for the day: Can you identify areas in your life where you can work on boundary setting? What would it do for you to set that boundary, regardless of others' reactions?
